It sucks, but I'm going to have to buy a Windows OS to set up BootCamp on my 15" MBP 2.33ghz C2D. Which one should I buy? I went surfing to find the cheapest copy of XP Home or Pro and then saw all the Vistas too. I have heard the Vista OS is buggy and should be avoided. Does anyone game with Vista? Problems

There were 12 different listings for XP verisons when I went to look for one. The are's OEM vs.Full, XP SP2 vs. XP SP2 Full, etc. A link to a good deal would be fantastic.

Thanks!

PS I do use my OS X to game such as with WoW and Age of Mythology. I just want to try a couple Windows only games.

Is there an advantage of XP Pro over Home for my purposes?

Just as osX (remember 10.1?), new version of OS=headache.
A xp pro or media center will be better for your headache free use in 2007.
Do not settle for the world in shades of grey

You need a "full" version (not an upgrade), but OEM is fine. Home or Pro depends on if you need the extra features that Pro has. You need an SP2 disk to install with BootCamp, but you can make your own SP2 disk from any previous XP disk + the updates.

Newegg has XP Home SP2 OEM for $90 or XP Pro SP2 OEM for $140.

or the middle ground: Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 SP2b - OEM
(I'd choose media center over home or pro)

Definitely go XP over Vista. The performance gap between the two leans rather convincingly in XP's favor. That, and many games out right now simply won't work at all in Vista.

Well, got XP installed, but I'm having a hard problem getting XP to see my Airport.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I read on another forum that MC is fine, you just have to install the drivers themselves.

Speaking of drivers, if I get a GPS that has USB con. for waypoints and maps, is there any drivers I have to install?
I should get my XP Pro any day now so I'll submit my progress on that, coming from a person who has never used Winoze in his life.
Promise it'll be entertaining.
