I bet this is really easy, but it's driving me nuts ....
In the podcast section of the iPhone sync page, it says you can sync "all unplayed" or "all new"
What's the difference?? Can a podcast be unplayed but not new?
Please help

It's exactly what it says.
You can have a whole month's worth of podcasts from a particular show that you haven't listened to (unplayed) but only the most recent one that was downloaded would qualify as new.

When you listen to a podcast, iTunes marks it as "not new". Even if you've only listened to part of it.

Here's the issue then .... I have several podcasts that have multiple episodes that I haven't listened to .... and when I sync using "all new" it syncs not just the most recent one, but it syncs all of the unplayed ones ....?????

That's because "new" means unplayed I guess. Maybe you can unmark the ones you don't want it to sync (by making them not new). Or you can choose something like "last 3 unplayed" or whatever the option is. I'm not at the computer I sync my iPhone to, and I don't remember all of the options you can choose from, so I'm kinda going off of memory here.

The effect that I get using "all new" is what I want (syncing all unplayed videos), but out of curiosity ... I'm wondering what "all unplayed" means then?
*weird*
