Inside job, right? Some liberal or disgruntled conservative managed to get to be her speech writer, right?

In other news, Hillary has invited Michael Brown's mother to speak at the DNC. It looks like no one checked her Twitter feed.

PS someone feel free to make a new thread now that we're on to the conventions. This thread's use by date has been surpassed.

I was figuring the conventions are the official cap to the primaries.

I just think the conventions are self contained events of their own.

The meme you posted said "Everybody's talking about what's the same. I'm thinking about what's not. And I like it."
My post responds to that by making this observation ..
The issue at hand is the outright plagiarism that Melania Trump's speechwriter Meredith McIver has finally admitted to. Despite Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort's continued denials in the face of clear and convincing evidence. But since we are now attempting to change the subject that's fine. Like I said "two can play that game". So now I'm thinking about what's not [the same] ... and I certainly don't like it.
That being said if one wants to be critical of her statement at least express what you find objectionable about it in its full context and not just a partial sentence.

And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud. And I feel privileged to be a part of even witnessing this, traveling around states all over this country and being reminded that there is more that unites us than divides us..
I contend that there's a reason why Fox News et al never displayed the entire statement in their incessant and juvenile attacks against an innocuous comment like this. Because it clearly doesn't mean what they were trying to spin it to mean. Just saying ...

David Duke is running for LA Senate. Does this happen if Trump hadn't run this year?

The amazing thing is that the slack-jawed, mouth-breathing morons that were (and apparently still are) giving Michelle crap about this statement have no problem supporting a guy whose ENTIRE CAMPAIGN is built around the idea that America is so bad that we need to make it 'Great Again".
Hypocritical much?

Duke ran for the Senate in 1996. Would that have happened if Dole hadn't run that year?

People are saying the Republicans breaking rank will be able to say "I told you so" in 2020 if Trump loses now.
If Trump loses now, no one is going to be bringing the guy up in 2020.

Argh, that's as bad as the pun from back in the day when David Wood played for the Suns. He had just ben traded prior to what ever team Alonzo Mourning was playing for coming to town. The guys on one of our local stations said " he was sad he was traded, I was looking forward to the "Mourning -Wood match up"

Another JuRY point...
In the last week Ted Cruz has thrown down with a "servile" and an "abrogate".
Even his most incensed hater needs to give the dude an A+ for vocabulary.
