If you don`t need the portability of a laptop go for it.

Hi,
I think that i will need a laptop but have been thinking that I wouldn't need a laptop as "much" as the 17".
Is the g5 a good deal though?
Thanks!

Definately a good deal.
G5=$1600-1800
20" ACD=$1000-1100
Soundsticks=$150
Gig of RAM=$100-200
You can always resell it if you need portability.

I'd do it. You're getting the better end of the deal

I though the deal would be something like that but without such gorgeous 20" display, now that is a decent trade !

Hi,
It seems that most of you think that this is a decent trade.
The screen is definitely included and it is in perfect condition - no dead pixels, spots, blemishes, nothing.
I also like the 2 hard drives giving me 230gb of space, the airport extreme already built in, and of course the soundsticks make a nice touch.
The whole point was that each of us would get a full setup.
All together this looks like a deal that I can't pass up for now. It looks like I'll lose my baby, and will have to look for another laptop, preferably a powerbook, and hopefully a 17' if I can get a good deal on one (I have a nice brenthaven case for it, and a brand new extra battery, 512mb chip ready for it)
But since I have this monster waiting at home, I may have to go smaller, or maybe even ibook.
Any other opinions on the trade or anything else?

Hi,
Trade has been completed, thanks to all of you.
It took me time to get used to the 17" widescreen display, now it's a trip getting used to this gorgeous 20" widescreen.
The g5 is a beaut also, and I can't believe how cool it stays with all those fans going. I'm glad I made the trade. Now time to search for another laptop.
I also just got an imac for my wife. But now since she's loving the g5 and the 20" display, she wants to sell the imac. That should be about enough funds to get me another laptop.
So it comes to:
powerbook 17" 1ghz
imac 15" 800
for
g5, 20" Display
? laptop (hopefully a powerbook!)
I'm glad that I moved onto a g5. I'm thinking it will at least allow me to keep up a little with the big boys, and will last longer than any g4 for now.
Definitely fun!!
Thanks for everything!!
