As a French-speaking guy living in Japan, I would really like to buy a MacBook... with a French keyboard.
Is it possible to buy foreign keyboards in Apple Stores? Or to buy replacement keyboards?
Thanks.

As far as I know, you can only buy English and Japanese keyboards in Japan. Not a lot of call for French, I'm afraid.

you should be able to order one as a Build To Order (BTO) from an apple store in Japan.

No you can't. At least not that I know of, and it's not listed on the web site.

Could he just order it from Apple France and have it shipped to Japan?

Apple doesn't ship outside of the country, as far as I know. He might be able to get a French e-tailer to ship it to him in Japan.

Yeah, that sounds familiar. However, maybe a call to Apple France could work things out - they have to have something for people working abroad, don't they?

I would love to see a rpl keyboard for the MacBook. I wonder how Apple is going to handle that.

i should of been more specific when saying Apple Store, i meant an authorised independent Apple Dealer.
i used to work for one in the UK and we could special order any country keyboard for a laptop. It used to take extra time over normal BTO orders.
