Hi there, I'm unsure if this is the right thread. No Classic forum?

I have 2000 files with incorrect file types on a tower running OS 9. I need some way to convert them to the correct 4-letter type. Alternately, if this could be done from my XP box, it would be faster. Can ResEdit do this?

I appreciate your help, thank you.

I've never tried it myself, but maybe you can go into AppleScript and record some actions in the Finder and in ResEdit. Then just tweak the resulting script to work on multiple files within a folder......... (i'm not even sure if AppleScript can even do that....) but what've you got to lose? Good luck!

Don't bully me, I got an Uzi... HOO-HAH!
