MacBookPro7,1 spinng gear freezes at startup

My Mid-2010 13" MBPro Core 2 Duo (P8800) spinng gear freezes on boot up. This happened with two sets of (2x4GB) 8GB G.Skill FA-10666CL9D-8GBSQ kits. What can be done to resolve this? MBPro is spec'd for a min memory speed of DDR3-1066. The G.Skill is DDR3-1333. Could either of these be a reason?
Should I consider resetting NVRAM / PRAM?

(1) You're using RAM that has a different speed than the spec for your Mac.
(2) The G.Skill web site indicates that your RAM is
"***Only for MacBook Pro 2011 / iMac" Your Macbook Pro is mid-2010.
(3) The G.Skill web site lists the following motherboards as qualified for this RAM:
MC700
MC724
MC721
MC723
MC725
MD311
MD313
MD314
MD318
MD322
But your model is MC375 which is NOT listed as compatible by G.Skill.
So I guess I'm not surprised you're having problems operating the Mac with this RAM; it appears to be incompatible with the Mac model you are using it with.

Your Mac isn't listed there. Doesn't guarantee that it won't work, but based on the speed and other characteristics, I'd say the RAm chips you got are not compatible with your Mac model.
