I'm no stranger to liquid spills on Macs, at times I actually feel like I'm cursed. So everyone please save the "shouldn't have been drinking near your computer" or the "Ill buy it off you for $100" type responses.
With that being said today I was using my MacBook Pro and as i was sitting down knocked over my bottle of beer and it spilled on the keyboard/monitor hinge area. It was one of those spills where you watch the bottle start to tip over in slo-mo haha. I had grabbed the bottle before it went completely horizontal and was able to stop it from falling entirely. Being full though, a little bit of beer had sloshed out onto the computer. Having had this happen before I instantly started to force the computer to shut down, but I have a feeling the beer beat me to it. Instantly flipped the thing upside down as to direct the liquid out the same way it came in. Shook it gently a few times and left it upside down at that specific angle. Knowing I shouldn't turn it on or anything I left it for awhile but heard.it start up on its own a few minutes later. It seemed to boot just fine but to be safe I turned it back off and left it upside down overnight. When i woke up I tried turning it on and all i get is the white light on front flashing one time very quickly every time.I hit the power button. Besides that, nothing.

I know apple care will not cover this. And this computer has been a victim of liquid damage before. Last time it had a significant amount of soda spilled on it.and I had to send it to a specialist to fix it. That was four months ago. I'm hoping due to the minimal amount that was actually spilled that there may be some hope of fixing this myself. I believe I still have a warranty with the company that cleaned it last time, but I assume it would be very obvious whatever damage.there.is was not caused by the previous spill four months ago.
Any and all feedback is appreciated, but please try and refrain from comments like "alcohol abuse" "party foul" or "Quick, save the beer!" Haha

with plenty of advice on this topic. There is no way anyone can diagnose or guide you through fixing this over the internet in a discussion forum. There is obviously liquid (beer, which doesn't fully evaporate or dry up without leaving some residue) still in there which may have migrated and shorted out elements and I would never trust this unit any further unless it had been professionally cleaned/restored.

P.S. I wouldn't characterize this as "minor." The computer won't start up.

If you're lucky its a top case or power button issue but if you're going to spend money on it you need to have the logic board inspected at the very least.

I can most certainly help you if you've not resolved this issue by now. I can also get the Apple Care reinstated once the repair is complete.
