I got 3.40 to work for me under X in 10 minutes after I downloaded it!

Installed the patch on our server - took the new files from the server and placed them in my own macos x installation and they woked at once!

Is it true that you need to buy AOT? (or have the retail version)

Well officially - there are others who have 'hacked' it as well to make it run on pc/mac/linux mods.

Heres one of them!

http://www.servto.net/index.php?page=hackzip

you need 3.40 and the mod update.

I have found that with this update I have the following improvments:

- The small room fps has gone way up. I used to get anywere from like 20 - 60 with my geforce 2 mx. I am now hitting 100 + in small rooms.

- Sometimes when you would come around a corner it would pause for a second. It no longer does this which I think is pretty cool.

yeah.

they have stoped the recaching after taking a screenshot and the fps have gone up - even for me. Sniping is easier now cuase the game is smoother.

I hope it will get far better when Ryan Gordon have finished his work on UT as well!

You get binoculars if you hit # 6.
I persnally think they are a bit on the over kill side. However if you see someone with binoculars they only hold it in there hands, the don't put it up to there eyes or anything....

The new map terror mansion it is way to dark, I can hardly see the end of my gun. My brothers Windows Laptop (schools one, they wouldn't let him use a Mac... he is getting a new powerbook as soon as he leaves) it looks like the screen has been in bleach! You can see across the hole map, were as I walk around like a bat!

Some people with Windows swear that they can hear were people are in the map just with sound. Have any of you been able to do this with your macs? (Is surrowend sound an option)

Lastly my nightvision doesn't work at all.

I think you need to have Dynamic lightning activated to be able to use the NV goggles.

My 20" Cinema was way darker then the 12" studio i had so i created a new gamma setting under monitor in the control panel under os x. I did set the gamma to 1.4 and now it's much brighter.

With 3d hardware sound activated in the pc you will get better positioning of enemies but i dont think that work in os x - on a pc it uses a lot od cpu my pc-friends says... so several of them have deactivated it.

Yeah I have dynamic lighting enable. It is really strange that it doesn't work .
I am running it with 16 bit color. For some reason it runs like 20 fps faster with 16 instead of 32 bit color. NV doesn't work if i turn it to 32 bit color.

Is it the lower the gamma the brighter it is?

Yeah I got it to work. I just downloaded Unreal Tournament Preview 3 for Mac OS X and got the ini files and copyied over my old ones.

However the Night Vision (NV) looks really teriable. It looked better in 3.3.2.
What does everyone else think?
