I picked up a C2D Blackbook tonight. Been playing with it for about three hours now.

I am not impressed with the battery life so far. From fully charged I am looking at just over 3 hours. That's a far cry from Apple's reported 6 hours (I would be happy with 4.5 - 5 hours). Is there some sort of break in period?

Congrats on the new macbook. I really like the look of them. I've heard numerous reports about batteries not meeting the "apple specs". I think the apple battery levels are based on having minimal things running but I'm not sure. To conserve battery life when you're out and about-- keep the screen dim, make sure the computer is set to better battery performance, and don't play games while on battery. Games SUCK battery like an SUV guzzels oil. Good luck with your new macbook, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

Congrats on your purchase!! I just got mine on sunday. I think the battery life is ok. I used to use my mom's gateway laptop and it would only get 1-1 1/2 hour at the most! But 4 hr battery life would be nice.

I think Apple likes to call them Switchers, but Converts work too.
