can't mount Unix dir. - "error = -36"

from what I understand about Samba, here's what I do to mount a Unix directory:

Type into Finder's connect server dialog:
smb://CSEPCLAB;anthonyw@tahiti/homes/iws/anthonyw

where CSEPCLAB is the domain i belong to
anthonyw is my username
tahiti is the name of the server, then the path follows is the path to my home directory

The computer would look for a while and give me a "error = -36" message.

Anyone kno what -36 represents?
