I had my old PB drive collecting dust and I wanted to erase it. Whoa I was not expecting the pain this was going to cause. All the permissions and invisible directories. There is no erase disk anywhere, I can understand that they will make one soon (hint hint Apple) with an Authorization system. In the mean time I su'd and did some rm -rf stuff..whew its scary What kinda of erase dialog/system should we expect? maybe in Prefs? or another finder menu item?

You could always use the DiskTools application, in the Utilities folder.

Thanks Gee4orce, I checked in the Diskutility.app but I didn't think it would be a menu item. I was looking for a button. I like this method of Erasure... It's just not very obvious.
