Same thing here. It simply won't install. I think that I've tried everything -- installing to the desktop, installing to the hard drive, installing with extensions off. Nothing.

A few times I've gotten an "error 340," whatever that means. This comes after it has downloaded (apparently) all of the installer files, but then there is nothing in the Netscape folder. Odd.

Not a good start after the PR1 fiasco.

I've gotten the same error, but immediately re-running the installer then works fine.

System info: PowerBook G3 Series; 292MHz; 192M RAM; MacOS 9.0.4

I got the "Error 340" message at least three times.

After the firstfailed installation attempt, I simply re-ran the Installer; same error.

Rebooted the Mac and tried again; same error.

Heck, I ain't gonna panic. It's just beta software, after all; if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

AOL should have posted a version that doesn't use an installer. Netscape 6 doesn't need it. You can drag and drop it just like IE 5. The installer only cuts a meg or two... it is not worth it if you ask me.

I'm just using mozilla m17 now. Same damn browser without AIM.

Same problem here. Error 340 on install on a G4/400 192MB. I have tried downloading several times - all with the same result. Anyone got any clues?

Best wishes
Peter

The same problem; but with a "twist"; I was able to install it in my G3 Powerbook but not on my G4 desktop; go figure.
Error 340 ; what the heck??? is that???
Slower than the previous release and it will not display graphics on Newsgroups; buggy and yes the "classic" skin looks better ... so far I am not impressed.... needs a lot of work ....
