T-Mobile has announced its second set of price plan changes in as many days. The carrier is extending the line capacity of its Simple Choice plans from five lines to a maximum of ten per account, while a new scheme will provide tablets added to a Simple Choice plan the same amount of LTE data as allocated to smartphones on the same account.

The new ten-line limit will be put in place from August 27th, with each additional line costing $10 per month to the account. Each line will continue to receive unlimited text, talk, and data, as well as an individual 1GB allowance of LTE data, though each line can upgrade to unlimited LTE data for $30 more per month.

From September 3rd, adding a tablet to a Simple Choice plan for $10 per month will provide the tablet with an identical amount of LTE as an associated smartphone, up to a maximum of 5GB. As an example, if a tablet is added to an account which already has a smartphone with the base 1GB data allocation, the tablet would also receive its own 1GB allocation, and if the phone had 3GB, the tablet would also have 3GB. The carrier also notes that this is still on top of its existing free 200MB tablet data offer.

"The old school carriers make you pay for the privilege of connecting your tablet to their network−just to tap into the same limited pool of data you already bought for your smartphone," said CEO and president John Legere in a statement. "With the Un-carrier, you can now get double the data on a network designed for data for one simple price. It couldn't be simpler or more straightforward."

The changes come shortly after Sprint, T-Mobile's main competition, made a number of changes to its own shared family plans. Sprint's Family Share Pack offered a maximum of ten lines per account, as well as a wider array of data allowances and bonus data allocations, while a single-line plan introduced later offers unlimited calls, texts, and data for $60 per month.
