So I've got a 50gb library and an 8gb ipod touch. Seeing as how I'm sick and at home for the forseeable future, I just cleaned out my library and started over again. Part of my plan is to load some new music every day on my ipod and listen to it and rate it with the star system. So my sync is not turned on. I'm manually dragging and dropping albums from the itunes viewer to the ipod in the left hand side bar. When I want to remove something from my ipod I just highlight it and delete it.

But my question is right there. Once I've listened to an album and I've rated it on the ipod, how to I get my itunes library to pick up my ratings? I'm lost as to what to do now. Because when I want to get rid of it I don't drag it back to the library, I just hightlight and right click and pick delete. but I want the star ratings to transfer back to my library.

What to do?

Thanks guys,
Bishop
Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

You have to have it set to automatic in order for the ratings to sync back to your computer. Manually syncing won't work.

Have you iPod only sync a certain playlist and drag and drop your albums into there. It will accomplish the same thing as manual syncing and your ratings will "stick".

My sig is 1 pixel too big.
