So I'm wanting to associate a file that I download in my Mac side, but I want to associate it with a program in my VMWare Vista install. I've right clicked the file and gone to GET INFO and under OPEN WITH, I can't get to the program in windows I want to use.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys.

Backups are like guns and condoms. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

You can do this with Parallels. I don't believe you can do this with VMWare.

So going with that logic parallels might be a better system to go with?

Well, the logic thing would be to download the torrent file in Vista directly.

Or open the torrent file from uTorrent using a shared disk (or folder).

Why would you like to use μTorrent while u can use a perfectly good program for OSX? (transmission, tomato, azureus)
Not to mention the additional 10% of CPU that the Virtual Machine will use for no reason...

Consider just using Azureus for the Mac. It works great.

problem with azureus and the other os x clients is that they don't get the speeds I can get with utorrent. I know, I 've tested them all with the same torrent files I'd load in utorrent. None of them gets anywhere near the speed I get with utor.
And azureus is now v.3 and it doesnt seem like the old azureus. I've got it on my desktop and i'll try it again though.

There's a variant of Azureus out there called BitTyrant. It bills itself as being able to get faster downloads.
And Azureus v3 is a bit different at first. It uses this Vuze interface. However, in the preferences (I have it set to advanced mode; don't know if it shows in others) you can set it to use the regular v2 interface and not show Vuze.

I agree with bishopazrael. I have found that uTorrent is still the best. They keep saying they'll make a Mac version though...

Cold.. I heard of bityrant, but my understanding is that it's mostly banned because of the way that it leeches...? I'd like to ask.. what clients do you guys use?
