Installing 10.13.1after the root fix will break it again, but you will get prompted to reinstall the fix as well.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Has anyone here tested this with a login after reboot?
The OS created a desktop for root and I had a "testfile.mov" with 0kb on this desktop.
Maybe this was some developer feature which they forgot to disable?

Root is an account that must exist, but direct login is disabled by default. What this does is that it appears to enable that account somehow with a zero password. Enabling the root account wasn't all that uncommon back in the day, so there is probably still some routines that get run when it is enabled.

I know what root is (and fortunately didn't have to use it for quite a long time) but enabling root (or logging in with the root bug) shouldn't create a "testfile.mov"...
I just wanted to find out if this only happened on my Mac or if anyone else saw the same behaviour?
