I have lost the ability to run PPC apps on my MacBook. I have searched through the forums and found a similar situation, but that person had used Monolingual to strip the PPC code from their system. I have not done that. In fact, I haven't installed anything that would alter the system in that way.

Anyone know what is going on???

All glory to the hypnotoad.

Open the Console app (it's in /Applications/Utilities), then try to run a PPC app and see what shows up in the Console.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!

Perhaps you can look into the system log and see what error messages are showing up there.

The console says all the apps are crashing, and it's writing logs. Here are two of them:

A restart seemed to fix it. Wonder what it was?

Yup. Something goobered Rosetta's capabilities in memory. A restart cleared everything so Rosetta could get a fresh start.

That's a good thing to know-Rosetta might hiccough, but a restart can fix the issue.
