I have OS 10.3.1 and wanted to erase my external FW disc (duly connected to my PB/ G4 ) using disc utility (as usually). After giving "erase" command I always get a report "Cannot unmount the disc" (?) and the action is finished. WHat is the problem ??

Maybe something on that disk is used by your system? "Ejecting" the disk is possible in Finder? Did you have any problems with that harddrive before?
