Hey everyone,

when I open InDesign, and a file I'm working on, I receive a message sometimes saying: Your font "Helvetica Neue LT" could not be found, we'll substitute it for a similar font. We received the font from our professor and I have put it into "Library > Fonts", not in my personal user folder, but the general one on the hard drive. I checked, and it's still there. I replaced it with the font we got at the beginning. I dunno what to do next. The message still appears sometimes. The font, btw, looks just like the old one we were supposed to be using, so it might still be the correct one. But how to know? What to do?

Any help?
Greetings,
PeterParker

P.S. Are the forums dying out? Seems like it. Not so much going on these days. Sad thing. Sort of grew up in the forums 15 years ago :-(

Are you using Font Book (or something similar) to install and manage your fonts? You can't simply drop fonts into the Fonts folder. They have to be installed so they can be seen system-wide.

How do I install a font, then? It's macOS 10.12.2...

First, move those new font files out of the Fonts folder and onto your desktop. Double-click on a font file and then click the Install button on the popup. Do that for each font file.
