I was not impressed with Game On. I think I withstood five minutes.

From what I can gather, Leo's being a pretty huge douche.

On Sunday he mentioned the show wasn't doing as well as it needed to, but it was getting six more episodes.

On Wednesday it's cancelled.

The only explanation I've heard was they played Cards Against Humanity on the LAN party, and it got out of hand (complaints from viewers).

I feel extra bad for Glenn. I really liked the LAN party.

Justin Robert Young confirmed it was a money vs. numbers thing.

Leo also talked about "cutting back" because of an expenditure vs. revenue issue on the stream Wednesday.

Someone who when he visits TWiT for the first time, gets everyone fired. He was the most drunk and suggested the dirty card game.

Also, Justin Jackson, Dr. Kiki's co-host for This Week in Science, which isn't an official TWiT show, but gets recorded on TWiT. They have a few shows like this where someone borrows a technical director and the multiple Skype channels.

Here's Leo getting pissed:

Justin.tv - TWiT Live -. Start at 18:38:00

And here's what he's pissed about:

Justin.tv - TWiT Live -. Start at 82:12:00

I haven't watched much of the second, but I assume it's NSFW. Also, if I'm reading the timecode right, they play for a couple hours, so get popcorn first.

They're both flash only. Which is obnoxious.

In fact, now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised if that was one of the reasons he picked the nick.

Is it just me or would Brundlefly make a killer TWIT guest.

He'd probably have more interesting things to say than Dvorak.

Considering how talented Topolsky is, I almost think that's an unfair comparison. He's an order of magnitude more versatile than Leo.

You've become TWiT gawker.

Show probably wouldn't have pulled through, but this still feels like a quick pull on the plug.

And I'm sure like Nick I get stuff wrong.

For instance, It doesn't actually look like anyone actually got fired. Glenn was still hosting the LAN party and they claimed they want to keep doing them every now and again with him as host.

As for Game On getting cancelled, Leo made a pointed yet (IMO) fair argument that Veronica has 1,000,000 twitter followers and the show was getting 25,000 downloads, the obvious subtext being she wasn't pulling in viewers commensurate with her salary.

Yeah, for another month.

I wouldn't be surprised if Veronica was the type of person who would walk away rather than deal with the ever looming threat of cancellation.

Agreed.

I imagine they had to have discussed people taking pay-cuts until the show got an advertiser, and someone had to have said "no". I don't see that being Shwood or OMGChad.

Does the show still feel like it's targeted at 15 year olds or did they "mature" it up?

Because I watched two episodes and they were terrible.

I miss CO-OP. That was a gaming show that didn't dumb it down. Adults talking to other adults like adults about video games. Crazy concept, I know.

Game On's problem always struck me as it being Leo's take on what a gaming show should be. Overly produced and 10 years out of style. Right down to the TechTV guy voiceover.

Yeah, seriously. Just get 3 or 4 smart/interesting people and let them sit around talking about games for an hour a week. Drop the lame gimmicks.

There was some sort of hostage situation at the old TWiT studio. Ratcliff happened to be walking by and took photos.

Looks like it was next door where there's a divorce lawyer. Guy shot his wife and then shot himself. Wife is still alive as of the last report.

Couple dead in Petaluma shooting | PressDemocrat.com

Sadly, the wife didn't survive.

This was at 10 Keller street and the old studio was at 8 Keller street.
