Hey Peter,

I get this a lot too, but I'm in China, and usually blame it on a (relatively) crappy connection to the outside world. A refresh often solves the problem. I don't believe it to be an Apple problem specifically, but I may well be wrong, as you're in the UK. Let me know what you find out, please.

Do you see it on specific pages or on a wide variety of sites at random intervals (which is what I get)?

Yes!

Although, truthfully, it's been better the past month, but in August Macupdate was unusable, totally fubar'd. Glad to have someone else in here confirm it's China, not me.

I do want to say it's better recently, though I did get it once yesterday. I also get timeout errors, or just plain denied connections, a lot in Firefox on a PC at work too, so...

China sucks at internet. (Waiting to see if this gets posted).

It's not that bad, their connection to the outside world is just suspect.
