Looking for a simple macro program

I have tired some of the main macro programs out there, but CANNOT get them to work. I tried X-keys and a couple of other programs. Basically I am looking for a macro that is as basic as it gets. It just hits the space bar every 5-10 seconds. Any suggestions?
