A friend of mine is using a Gateway VX900 VGA monitor with his Cube and is experiencing frequent sleep/wakeup problems. I mention the monitor because Apple tech support has told him it is probably the culprit. I don't see how, as the monitor is rated as fully Mac-compatible. I'm wondering if this is a firmware problem or some sort of software problem.
Thanks!

Does the monitor work on other machines? How old is it? My guess is the monitor or cables are defective or damaged. The Cube's video card should be able to drive that monitor without any modifications.
Also make sure you're using a resolution supported by the monitor.

The monitor is a Gateway VX900 19". It's rated by Gateway as fully Mac-compatible... after further discussions with my friend, he says the Cube won't even power up the monitor anymore... its sounding more and more like a monitor problem, but I'm not sure.
