is there a way to put pictures on an ipad without using cloud or syncing with a computer? for example, is there a way to directly transfer pictures from an ipod photo (or another hard drive) to an ipad? this is not something i would do very often, maybe a few times per year. thanks.

Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit - Apple Store (U.S.)

Not for iPod photo (wow. flashback.)

Not for external hard drive.

thanks. i've already got the pictures on my computer. they're not on my camera. your suggestion does open the door for some future pictures though.

It will also work with USB sticks that have a "DCIM" folder on them containing pictures.

hint, hint.

i suppose you mean putting the pictures in a folder and renaming the folder? if so then that's easy enough. drag and drop?

yep.

Stick them in a folder called DCIM on the USB drive, plug that into the iPad Camera Connection Kit's USB adapter, and the Photos app on iPad should immediately offer to import them.

This will only work for photos (and, I believe, videos), but not for any other file type.

Email them to yourself, then save them on the iPad.
