Hi all, as I need to down on power costs I killed my FreeBSD gateway and put its IDE disks in my PowerMac (10.2.4).

As the Mac has support for UFS, I hoped it would also recognize FreeBSD's disklabels, but this doesn't seem to be the case. The partition doesn't automount and Disk Utility sees only the physical drive, but not the partitions.

Anyone has any experience or insights with this? I can mount it somewhere else and transfer the files via NFS, but I was hoping there's a more intelligent solution.

Thanks!

In other words, you don't know either?
That's fine.

Anyone else?

I don't think they have drivers for FFS/FFS + SoftUpdates in OS X (pretty sure of that). Just export the stuff you need (don't share symlinks, took me one week to figure that one out) and copy it.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
