quick question guys,
noise occurs(only a few seconds) in dvd-rom when my pb comes back from sleep mode, also when i reboot the machine.
is that normal?

It's gotta check to make sure media is still there, or if some has been inserted into the drive or just to see if anything is there before starting up.
