The All-Blacks crushed their first opponents (Tonga) in the opening game of the 2011 Rugby World Cup - as usual.

I don't think that they'll win it, I reckon that they'll choke under pressure. The Australians look like they could do it, but I'd love England to. Canada and France in the same group as the All-Blacks, sorry Canucks you're not quite there yet.

South Africa are outsiders, they will probably meet the Irish (can't see Italy beating Ireland) in the next round. Their last meeting was close.

And lets hear from some USA supporters (last winners of a gold medal for Rugby in the 1924 Olympics) - you guys have a tough group.

I hope the Eagles do well this year, but as you've already mentioned, I won't keep my hopes up. Kiwis are fun to watch no matter who they play.

Got up early (for a Saturday) to watch France vs. Japan. The Japs had the French on the back foot for a while. Long gone are the days when first class teams would score 100 points against them. They have a height problem though, and it shows. Their best players are foreign born, but they work quite well as a team, quick after rucks and mawls.

Then, just after hearing the Argentinian national anthem - power cut. I missed the whole of the game. Probably best because by all accounts England were terrible, scraping a win. Lets hope its a repeat of 2007 when we lost 36-0 against the Boks but actually managed to get to the final.

Paddies vs. Yanks tomorrow plus South Africa vs. Wales (can't be arsed to get up for the Aussie match). Hopefully the Taffs can do some damage.

There's a lot of discussion in NZ that sounds almost like panic, thinking the margin of victory over Tonga was too slim. I hear things like "Uh-oh, we're in trouble" among lots of All Blacks supporters.

On another note, did you see the SIZE of some of the Tongan forwards?? Geez, those guys are monsters!!

The USA/Ireland match was amateur hour for the US side. Blatant hands in the scrum from the US captain, etc. Silly really, and just poor rugby.

Not just Tonga and not just the forwards, some of the wingers are huge AND can run fast. Talk about momentum !!! Anyone here remember Jonah Lomu?

Great Lomu video! He was a total BEAST on the pitch. People forget that he had incredible pace as well as the ability to knock the opposition out of the way like they were toddlers.

So Canada surprise everyone by beating Tonga - its official, the Frogs are worried. Well done to the Yanks for beating the Ruskies.

Always like seeing Russia being beaten - like its a poke in the eye for Putin himself.

As a NZ'er I would like to apologise for the twat bouncer with a chip on his shoulder.

The guy's a tool and if we could, we would deport him to Australia.

Demonstration of world class rugby from the All-Blacks. Soaked up the pressure well in the first few minutes of the game and then ran riot. McCaw is a beast, but Nonu is unreal.

The team to beat, but then thats what everyone said at the last two World Cups as well.

They were just bigger, faster and stronger. And I'm not sure they dropped a single pass. And their counter attack was devastating.

Atmosphere at the park was fantastic with great support for the French team.

What I liked was that is was a free flowing game with lots of attacking rugby, and not the dour boring games that certain countries like to play....

Pity the weather is crap for the Fiji v Samoa game as that game had potential.

The Scots now have to beat England to qualify, so it won't be an easy last match.

So the Irish, who beat the Aussies, could be knocked out if the Italilans beat them (which is unlikely) and the Aussies beat the Russians (which is likely).

Great to have the last pool matches being important. Come on England, crucify the Scotch !!!

Go Bokke!!!!!

Beating Samoa 13-5 was not as much of an annihilation as I would have hoped, and injured out center, but still, we won.

We keep on winning, and we should have a repeat of 4 years ago

So we have the semis. Did anyone predict Wales would be there? I think not. The Frogs will be thinking that its their year and that they could beat the All-Blacks in a final. They aren't even considering losing to the Taffs. The All-Blacks suffered against the Pumas this morning, but I now hope that they can win it.

Tomorrow is not going to be fun at work for me.

Oh well, only another 4 more years till I get excited again. After the recent Tri-Nations and Cricket World Cup, though, I am quite despondent about South African sport.

VERY difficult to say. Injuries (and rumours of injuries) from past games seem to be playing a bigger part this time than previous World Cups. I'd like to see the All-Blacks go through, but one should never count out the Aussies.

I'd love to see them win it, but I think Wales will falter against the Frogs. My life would be hell if the Frogs won the World Cup. ANYONE BUT FRANCE !!!

Bring on the Cheese Eating Surrender Monkeys!

Only reason why Oz was in the game is because we couldn't kick them off the park.

Well, the All-Blacks are in the final, against the most undeserving team in the tournament, and I don't say that just because they beat the English. The Frogs couldn't even soundly beat the Welsh with 15 against 14 - and it was the Welsh captain and probably best player who was sent off after only 18 minutes.

I'm hoping for a 40 or 50 points white-wash by the boys in black. Nobody wants the French to win it.

I hope the All Blacks win.

Largely so that I can justifiably quote the French critic once said that the All Blacks wear black because they are in mourning for their opponents.

An hour to kick-off.

In Auckland for the last week there has only been one topic of discussion and heaven forbid the AB's lose, otherwise Auckland will be burnt to the ground!!

Horrible game to watch, and not the massacre that I was hoping for, but a win is a win.

Well done All-Blacks, deserved.
