I'd rather do manual breast exams.

This will be great for bringing healthcare to women in remote locations.

In a decade or two.

I can't believe this will be in used anythime soon. The chances or error are so high, I can't believe this to be feasible.

Less expensive to have an itinerant doctor travel to do that, or have a High School curriculum for all women to be trained in doing the diagnosis.

I prefer the last option; more empowerment for women.

I foresee that what will really push this technology forward (as with everything Internet) will be the porn industry. Imagine the possibilities this technology holds (no pun intended) for future hands-on (pun fully intended) cyber-sex: not only can you see and hear the other person, you can also touch and feel them!

Wow, now anybody living in a location so remote that no doctor could get out there but who has the money to buy a robotic arm and arrange to have a doctor link up to the robo-arm has a better chance of finding out early if they have breast cancer! This could be a life-saving measure for as many as 2.0000000 people!

Who needs a robot arm anyway?

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

I think there would be serious issues with women in remote places even seeing the benfit of this. Then there's the fact that some women in other cultures would not be comfortable with this at all. It's hard to get some American women to get a mammogram.

It would be great if this would work, though. More power to them!

WTF ? If they are in remote locations, how would they have access to a breast-robot ?
Or do you think one day this thing will be a standard piece of equipment in any home ?
