Take this for what it's worth since it is definitely rumor, but I work for a developer that makes Mac Products. I have heard the same story from two different Apple people this week. Apple is planning limited edition powerbooks, G5's and ipods.

The powerbooks would be the same specs as the current ones but come in a couple of different metallic colors simliar to the Canon SD10 powershots. They would aslo come with custom not available anywhere else Tumi bags, and a color matching wireless mouse. It also may have a special high end software bundle like including Adobe Design Collection.

The G5 would be all irridescent white and include a matching custom 20" cinema display with built in speakers and also a remote control.

The ipod would be aluminum and would come with a special leather case and a silver version of the speaker set that you can buy from the apple store now.

All would only produced in very small quantities of a couple of thousand.

This may all be BS, but it sounds plausible and pretty cool if true.

I don't know if I'm right, but I thought it was sometime this coming January.
