I just looked, and it appears as if the rebates are no longer being offered on iMacs at amazon.com. Was there any kind of announcement? Or am I simply missing something here...?

I see a rebate on the G5 20", but I don't even see the intel 20" listed at any price... maybe there is a problem with my viewing of the site.

i agree that it is hard to find the product page. I actually bookmarked it
but i decided on a custom rig with 256mb of vram especially because of what another member (i forgot who, sorry) about running the UI off of vram (resolution independent screens)

I bought the 17" from Amazon a while back and so I went into my order history and clicked the link to the page. Apparently Amazon itself is not selling the 17" iMac at this time. The page I was linked to is for an iMac being sold by J&R, so it's not surprising that there's no rebate.

This situation really bites me in the ass, I bought a 17" isight iMac and had to return it because the optical drive was defective. Now the rebate is gone, and I live in NY so I'll be charged sales tax too!! Anybody know if Amazon will go back to selling it?

It'll probably be back pretty soon. I'd just keep checking if you can afford to wait a little bit.

Just purchased my 20" using the rebate, talk about cutting it close! Even if they would have offered rebates on the J&R iMacs on Amazon, I wouldn't purchase them. I almost never purchase on Amazon if the item isn't "shipped & sold by Amazon.com" When you get other companies involved, you follow their shipping policies, return policies, SALES TAX, etc...Amazon is awesome when used properly.

Oh, and with the free 3-month prime shipping trial, I was able to get overnight shipping for only $3.99 total. Four bux to ship a 31 pound computer overnight? Not too shabby! It reminds me of the glory days of Outpost.com back in the late 90s/early 00s where you could order an item up until midnight, and get it at 9am with no shipping charge. That was close to magic, haha.

I just checked again and the 17" intel iMac is shipping from Amazon again with the $125 rebate! I'm glad I waited. I'll even take advantage of the Amazon Prime to get it sooner...

i did the rebate thing on amazon on the last G5 iMac with iSight - still waiting on my rebate though - plus i signed up for an amazon.com visa - which allows you to get like $25 off your first purchase plus i earned points which came out to $50 more to spend on amazon.com with 6 months 0% apr you can just pay it off and cancel the card
