My wife uses a desktop at work, and has a laptop for when she travels. At my work, no matter where i am in the world, if i log onto the network, my desktop loads on that computer - however I use a PC. My wife uses Macs at work - is there a similar solution available to her, that would allow her to access a single desktop/profile when she's using her laptop? Not having the ability to do so currently makes it difficult to juggle the 'right' version of a document, or access items that may be on her desktop at work, but not her laptop for example.

Sounds like you're loading a roaming profile or using folder re-direction. How this works throughout the world puzzles me somewhat.
Your wife needs the same setup, not sure how to accomplish it in OS X.
