I just got my Powerbook on Wednesday. I have installed the following things on it since then:
Macromedia Studio MX 2004
iBatt 1.2.1
Aol Instant Messenger 4.7
Mozilla Firefox
iBatt absolutely refuses to run. It starts up for a few seconds then disappears from the taskbar.
AOL Instant Messenger just randomly crashes, and then tries to restart again.
Do these programs have problems with OSX or is it me?
Do I need to do a reinstall *already*?

There was a thread just recently about iBatt. I don't use it so I didn't read closely but I think it said something about it not working in Tiger.
I use Adium so can't help with the AOL. Though it isn't a bad idea to be a clean reinstall on a new Mac. For some reason, the Apple-installed ones can be a bit flaky.

Well there was one last night about iBatt, but no one replied, and that was my post.

I doubt a reinstall of the OS will cure AIM. That program was just as buggy on Panther as it is on Tiger. Use Adium

Yeah, i'm thinking as soon as I get my downloads finished, i'll turn computer off and install RAM, check that everything works, burn the programs i've already got to CD, then do a fresh install of Tiger.
Is this a difficult thing to do? Do I just pop in the CD? I've never had to redo a Mac!
