Not defending Eisner, but I don't think Finding Nemo is as good as Pixar's other movies either. OTOH, I still thought it would do great at the box office.

And for Pixar's sake, I really hope Cars isn't as bad as its teaser trailer.

I didn't like Nemo much. It has a story like a computergame where the father-fish has to master one level after the other and then finds his son. Other Pixar movies had far more interesting stories.

Finding Nemo is their weakest, but it doesn't matter when it comes to the bottom line.

I liked Nemo quite a bit, more-so than I did Monsters, Inc. Either way, my guess is that Eisner's assessment wasn't completely objective, which was the implication in the story.
