I just saw this on cheapassgamer.com. Bestbuy.com is doing preorders for the PS3 without any kind of forced bundle. Given how hard this system is going to be to get, this is a great deal. Of course there has been some speculation that this is some kind of mistake or that the orders will be canceled, but it can't hurt to try.

Seems to be shipping only and not in the Canadian Store.
It must not be for a launch day but "they will ship it when they get some".

I don't see any reason to assume that. First of all, of course it's for shipping only. It won't be available in store for another couple of weeks, and you can't do in-store pickup for things that aren't actually in the store yet. Plus, I'm hoping that they have learned from their experience with the 360 and realize that putting up a preorder for the PS3 without the units to fulfill it would be constumer relations suicide.

Seems to me that retailers are being much more careful with PS3 and Wii preorders following the 360 fiasco last year. I don't see any reason to assume these won't ship at launch, the estimated shipping time makes it look like they will.

I ordered one. Wasn't planning to get a PS3 at launch, but for no effort on my part I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the heads up icruise! Now we'll just have to wait and see if this was really a legit preorder...
