Hey again all!

I have a quick question for you guys and gals out there in cyber land.
A friend and I are both about to get the new 15" alpb with the superdrive. We are both frequently back and forth between Japan and the US, and both have family in both countries.
So our question is this: can the region settings on the burner in the alpb be set to different regions each burn, or are the stuck on the region of the player or how does that all work?

Thanks in advance.

DVDs you burn are region-free. only store-bought DVDs have region codings, and some powerbook drives can be flashed to be region-free (search other threads for more info about that)

Thanks for your help. Not that I don't trust you, but I am wondering if anyone else can varify this.

Thanks again.

I have a Mac and PC.

On the PC I have a program that copies DVDs and removes the region encoding, really neat!

Just copied a movie today, won't mention which one!

Where did you get the idea that the DVD you make have region settings? I guess that depends on which program you use to burn DVD. iDVD burn region free DVD. Not too sure about the Pro apps. May be some Pros can confirm this.

AlbertWu is right about this. You set the region just for viewing commercial DVD only.
