These folks had WAY too much fun blowing things up! Of course they blasted the electronic crap out of a lot of things other than the iMac...mostly IBM stuff. Interesting...

Don't these idiots know that electronics contain toxic substances that must be disposed of properly instead of distributed into the environment?

I like the gun safety tips and the "God Bless America" at the end. The perfect ending.

I never find stuff like this funny. I mean even when I watch America's funniest home videos there is always a clip of some redneck who builds a snowman in-front of a canon and they blow its head off laughing their ass off at the great accomplishment.
BLAM! LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!!! I HAVE A BIG PENIS!!!

Hopefully some of the lead on the electronics got into their system and made them infertile.

"Hello, what have we here?

Chances are, it'll just make them more rednecky. Redneckier? Redneckish? Well... you get the idea.

I want to kick that idiot's ass. That's not an appropriate way to "display" the flag, and though the Flag Code does not have any enforcement teeth, simple good taste should have prevailed. Obviously that individual is lacking in that.

I agree with TETENTAL about the toxic contents of these machines, but considering the very small level of destruction, I don't think much came out of any machine. Glass and some small bits of metal-mostly steel-are probably all that was distributed out among the trees.

What really bothered me most was that these people were firing RIFLES INTO THE AIR! They are not like shotguns which throw spherical pellets, because those pellets' aerodynamics make them fall to the ground pretty harmlessly after only a relatively few meters travel. Bullets from rifles like what they were firing go a LONG WAY and maintain a lot of energy all the way. That's dangerous, just plain dangerous.

I did think the black powder mortar idea was cool though...

I live closer to Canada that I do Southern USA. I have driven through deep rural Canada more than I have driven through deep rural USA. I am speaking from experience.

I hope that clears things up.

Plus, aren't you getting tired of the "only in ....." crap yet? I guess you don't mind glaring inaccurate stereotypes. Or perhaps my pointing out that this kind of thing also happens in Canada touched a nerve with you?

Isn't it quite dangerous to go over to the iMac and grap it like that after it has been blown up? I thought that CRTs stored dangerous amounts of electricity long after they have been unplugged.
This signature is obsolete.

No it doesn't. It is just that you constantly point to Canada when something bad/embarrasing/idiotic happens somewhere in the US. of course there are similar rednecks in Canada. If somebody posts a video of Canadians shooting at computers I will have the same reaction - these guys are idiots, wherever they came from.

C'mon, quit being a drama queen. "Constantly"?!?!

I am very familiar with Canada. That's why I reference it as much as I do.

And when someone says "Only in America", I'll refer to similar things in Canada because I am familiar with it. If I lived within 90 miles of Mexico like I do Canada then I would refer to Mexico. Comprende?

Can we NOT get into sniping at each other?

While I thought the idea of launching stuf into the air was cool, the more I have thought about it, the less I like what they did. It was stupid, unsafe, disrespectful of the U.S. flag and the environment, and probably a lot of other bad things.

Agreed, but in my defense, while my response to WTH was not an attack on any one or group of people, Mastrap's was.

Agreed. But I don't question anyone's patriotism simply because they are wearing clothes with the flag depicted upon them. Unless, of course, that was their obvious intent.

Color me surprised. Were you not insinuating that similar things happen in rural Canada, regardless that you have absolutely no evidence to support that statement?

It is a tactic you've used many times before, trying to deflect criticism of events that happen in the US by saying 'oh, it happens in Canada too'. What on earth does that have to do with the original events? It's a Kindergarten tactic, refusing to take responsibility for your own backyard by pointing to your neighbor's.

Anyway, this is the last thing I have to say about this.

True rednecks would have no idea what an iMac is. And the land in the surrounding area would already be barren and pock marked from previous "activities".
