So I am on my 3rd iPhone right now. The first one completely fried out, the second had a discolored yellow streak on the screen. Now that one was replaced at the end of June. The phone they gave me now also has the yellow streak on it, as well as a dead pixel. In that time frame the one year warranty would have come up, and I blanked on getting AppleCare on it. It has been less than 90 days, is there any chance if I take it to an Apple Store they would realize that they replaced a defective product with another one? I'm also just trying to determine if this yellow discoloration is extremely common, or have I just had bad luck?

You just had bad luck. I've been hovering for a while here and haven't seen much of that.

As the PP suggested, take it back. Apple will likely take care of it.

I'm on my 3rd 1st gen iPhone (first 2 replaced at the Apple store under warranty because of this screen issue) and now my current phone has developed this same problem. Trust me, this isn't about "bad luck"! There is a much bigger defect with the first gen screens. Apple seems to be pretty mute about it.

The real question is: Has anybody had this problem with a 2nd gen phone?
