Google's cloud storage platform app has been
updated for iOS today, now offering the ability to upload files from other sources. As reported
last week, Apple has reversed its course on a
policy that disallowed an app to upload content to iCloud Drive unless a file was created within the app itself. Google Drive for iOS v3.4.0 includes bug fixes and performance improvements, and file uploading to Drive from other apps and sources (such as iCloud Drive) can be executed on devices running iOS 8. Google Drive for iOS requires iOS 7.0 or later to run.
Waze Social GPS, Maps and Traffic app updated for iOS
Community-based traffic and navigation app Waze has received an
update for its iOS app, adding a new widget for iOS 8 and a variety of improvements on existing features. Waze allows users to contribute to real-time traffic information in their local community, including reporting accidents, police road-side monitoring actions and other current incidents on the road, and more.
Version 3.9.2 offers a simplified "I'm on my way!" feature, including a new design and layout, which allows friends and family connected through Waze to note the progress of your drive. Its new Waze Today widget for iOS 8 features a quick-view of the user's estimated time of arrival for Home or Work destinations. Additionally, the widget facilitates one-tap navigation, and improved sending of current travelling and estimated time of arrival information when navigating. Waze's new map display setting switches between two-dimensional and three-dimensional views, and bug fixes and performance enhancements have also been included in this latest update. Requiring iOS 6.0 or later, Waze is free to download.
