No real purpose to this one other than I think it looks cool:
(high res; ~8MP)
(high res; 8MP)
(high res; 8MP)
The cover of the display was a pain to get off, just a warning if you do this yourself.

More specifically, it is the LCD's mercury backlight through which electricity is sent, giving it the white-blue color. It's much like xenon headlights on an automobile.

Nice mod. Where did you get the apple from?
I have been thinking about a solid blue mod for my ibook but I haven't gone out to get any transparent blue plastic.
Maybe someone here has leftovers from a mod they did.

Very retro. Love it!
I have a multi-colored Apple decal on my '06 Mustang.

I can't remember where I saw the link to this mod, but I ordered the supplies from icolours.ca.
It wasn't the easiest install, but definitely way easier than making my own multicolored filter like this guy did. Taking the bottom half of the powerbook off is far easier than getting the top off (the opposite of what I had expected... )

I want to perform this operation on my MacBook, but I'm not sure how it'll turn out. The site you mentioned claims that the results are sub-par... anyone wanna try it out and post pics?
