Thunderbird cleared my inbox on my online .Mac, HELP!

	So I decided to test out thunderbird to see how it compared to Mail. Well once I installed and it updated all the emails I found out that All my emails dissapeared from my Mail app inbox and also online on my .mac! How do I get them back onto .Mac, and Mail?? I am going to dump thunderbird and stick with Mail, but how do I get everything back to normal????? Thank you for your help!
