is there a way to run iOS in a virtualization app (like virtual box, parallels, etc.)? i realize there is a simulator available in apple's sdk, but virtualization provides other benefits. like being able to play with the file system, revert to prior images, etc.

thanks!

Virtualization only works for OSs that run on processor architectures that are the same. There's no regular computer out there that runs on ARM, to my knowledge, and iOS doesn't run on Intel processors (at least not at this point ). So you'd have to look for iOS emulators, and other than the simulator in the SDK I don't think you're going to have much luck.

However, you can look at the iOS's filesystem from your computer if you jailbreak an iPod touch or iPhone and install SSH.
