This is the podcast I've been alluding to. Enjoy. I hope my bandwidth holds up

I'm trying to get a .torrent file working but I don't know how to host it properly.

Not to be nitpicky, but this isn't a true Podcast. Either that or I'm missing the podcast links.

Basicially, Podcasting is a method of automaticially distributing audio content via an RSS/XML source. Thus, a listener subscribes to the content once, then his program automaticially downloads new episodes as they roll out. Right now, you site only offers a direct download to an .m4b or .mp3 file, with no way to subscribe.

This should get you started on getting this converted over properly to a full podcast.

More specificially this is a plugin for Movable Type to add audio enclosures support, aka podcasts.

Cool, you do have one. Its added to iTunes for me!

I am listening right now too, I like it!

Don't become a 'podfader'! (someone who posts a couple of Podcasts then fades away)

You guys are the only ones doing a WoW related 'podcast' right now it seems. There are other online radio shows, but they don't podcast it.

So yeah, Keep it up.

Make feeds for aac and mp3.

And get your selfs on Podcast Alley when you get enough shows.

And make your feed(s) a little more noticeable. It should be prominent since that IS the method most will use. And then keep posting direct links when you make new episodes and do news posts.

In listening, I noticed this will be a different view on things. Since you 2 are not level 60s who have been playing since early beta.

This might actually turn away some users "Noobs!"

Just commenting.

- lol,you just commented on the horde AH. most servers have an Alliance Vs Horde Ratio of 3 to 1 or more some are crazy more.

- No one is gonna hate you for saying spirit is useless. I am a level 60 warlock, and I and MANY other's agree. Spirit is **** in this game.

Thanks for the comments, OB. I don't care if people don't listen to us because we're not level 60 ubers. If they like the content alone, then that's all I care about. If it helps someone play the game better, that's all I care about.

As for the AAC w/chapters, I forgot how I happened upon it. I did it fast, right after I uploaded the MP3 and thought I was done. Then I saw I could do chapter stops, images and hot links. I got right to work on that .

Yeah, I realized that I have to make an MP3 feed.

I updated the RSS feed.

http://www.worldofwarcast.com/podcast.xml

Am I going to have to have separate feeds for the AAC and MP3 files? I assume so since each feed is supposed to link to one file.

EDIT: I did that already. Doing some research, each feed it supposed be for one file, so...

http://www.worldofwarcast.com/podcast.xml
http://www.worldofwarcast.com/podcastmp3.xml

Not that anyone here should need the MP3 feed

EDIT: Because I signed up for the wrong account type originally, my hosting company moved me to a new server which is why I'm seeing odd "cached" files. The odd thing is that from the SAME internet connection at home, connected to the same wireless network with the same DNS servers, I get two different sites. VERY odd.

Great, man! Thanks for allowing me to do even less work during the days. I used to only be able to lurk the official wow forums when people weren't looking over my shoulder, but now I can listen to WoW-stuff as well. And almost call it actual work since I work for a radio station interested in all things pod. Just keep those episodes coming!

Does anyone know of any more WoW related podcasts?
Steve is better tahn you!

Not to take attention away from Starman.. but yes, there is another WoW Podcast called "Warcraft World". Depends on how you like your Podcasts, but they are a little shorter (on avg. 20min vis 1 hour).

Episode 2 is up.

There's a problem with the forums which seems to be a back-end issue.

Thanks. I'm actually tweaking it now, but the DNS at work is screwed up and I can't upload my changes. On top of that, I think I might make it even MORE simplistic. I dunno. I see all these whiz-bang CSS pages and I want to do something impressive, but then I'll see a simple one and think "oh, that's enough".

Redesigned again, and probably the last redesign for a while. The only change I'm going to make when I get home is the page is going to have a different banner every time you load it. Besides that, it has the minimal look I was going for. I also added a link that goes directly to the iTunes Podcast listing for the podcast.

GOod job, Starman. I actually look forward to listening to these while on the bus. It doesnt hurt that i'm around the same level as you (or atleast was). What instance do you think a level 47 should work on first, Zul'farrak or Maradon?

Both, actually. Check thottbot.com and see what loot you might want for your class. Z'F does give you the Carrot on a Stick, though.

If you haven't listened to these guys yet, give them a try. I downloaded all the podcasts that were available and it saved me from going insane on my drive from FL to Atlanta. Each one seems to get better.

Too bad they are Alliance. HORDE RULEZ!

Episode 6: It was fun having people who have done MC on the podcast… It was funny to hear you guys in awe of the time and effort it takes

What are your guys Char names on Whisperwind? If you want PM them to me, I wanna add you to my Friends list.

For ideas on what else is coming: http://www.wowwiki.com/Category:Coming_Soon

Levels past 60? Hero Classes. They will be a huge grind to 'level' your char past 60 once they are in.

Your guys Pretty Magicians comments… erm… that was totally not true

You guys should do a podcast with Taverncast every so often, you guys really bounce off each other well.

Well episode 6 was real, uh, interesting. Glad you guys are back. Maybe they can get some commentary from the Horde side. And no, Paladins don't need to be fixed - they need some nerf love.
