To MacBook Or Not To MacBook? That is the question.

One of my friends is on the fence between getting a MacBook or the new HP TX 1000 touchscreen.. She's going to use the laptop for design and school. Do you guys have any recommendations that could help her decide wether to get a MacBook or the HP?

The question is whether she wants to stick with Windows(definitely virus, firewall must needed *pukes*) OR Mac (no virus, no firewall needed)?

The ModBook is an option if she wants a touchscreen Mac.

The HP is under 1500. If she asks for a 2000+ computer, I think that her dad is going to get a stroke. Also, she needs a built-in traditional keyboard and mouse for school.

I think that her dad is going to get a stroke.
You "have" strokes, you don't "get" them. The HP could be quite fun, but you'd be stuck using Windows. I'd rather be using a TiBook with OS X over anything that relies on depressing software. Plus if she's serious about design she should get used to the industry standard (Macs & OS X).
