I am having an odd problem with my dock. I'm running 10.9.10. The dock seems to "halfway" freeze. By that, I mean that if the dock is hidden, I can't access it. If I turn off "auto show/hide the dock" so that it's always visible, it works just fine, except for magnification, which doesn't work. This happens several times a day, and the only fix is the restart the dock. Anyone have a similar experience, or know what might be done to fix it?

Are you using any hacks that might affect the Dock (e.g Transparent Dock)?

Yeah, I get that all the time. Always when it's on auto-hide. Usually happens when I reach down to the dock, then mouse out and back in then it freezes. To fix I go back out then put my mouse over the dock again: Fixed

Sounds similar to that problem, except that the only solution to mine is to kill the dock, or log out and back in. It gets annoying having to do that several times a day, so I was hoping there might be a fix.

And nope, no haxies or anything like that.

I have this problem as well - and I just re-installed Tiger two days ago after partitioning my drive. Looks like I'll just have to live with it. I've gotten really good at typing "killall Dock" into Quicksilver and then sending it to Terminal, though.

If you look in Console at the crash logs, do you have any for the Dock?

I think it happens if you overload the system with animations. For instance, It froze one time when I was just playing around with the dashboard; Fly in, fly out, over and over, and when I minimized 10 windows in rapid succession.

I was the original one with this problem in this thread, and the only solution I eventually found was to reinstall Tiger.

Same here, hover and no magnifying. I have a MacBookPro Intel too but using 10.4.11.
This issue started at the same time of Mighty Mousse Wireless problems. All clicks get me Expose. No more left or right clicks work. Could there be a link ?
I just restart for now for the dock problem, until I install 10.5 (and I'll get a new mouse for the orher !).
