The App Store is now live.
I've downloaded a few apps, but since iPhone software version 2 isn't out yet, there isn't much I can do with them.

Still exciting though. There are quite a few, seemingly, great apps.

It's still down for me.
Can you tell me if the Appstore is global or regional (like the iTMS)?
the latter would blow.

Try browse to the regular iTunes Store, then do a search for AOL.
It should bring up search results and some should be apps. Click on an App and then you're in the App Store and can browse and download apps.

More real than the other two threads.

Cold Warrior...how do you feel now? Just because it wasn't available to you doesn't mean it wasn't released.

I feel like this forum is going down the shitter.

I awoke this morning to find 7.7 had been released, so I installed it. Problem is, now whenever I plug my iPod Touch into the computer, iTunes can't handle it and beachballs until I Force Quit out of it. I also cannot see the App store, but that makes more sense to me, iTunes is probably updating around the world. I do however believe not being able to hook up my iPod to be a slight problem, wouldn't you think?

I'm on an XP box here at work, and it looks like the PC version of iTunes is still at 7.6.2.

Yeah, it's still a bit quirky. I got it to work by signing out of my ITMS account, opening the App Store and then signing back in. Had to do the same thing just now on my MBA to get it to work.

Rats, I downloaded 7.7 and now iTunes won't recognize any newly downloaded tunes from Limewire. I hope that Limewire does something to get compatible with the new upgrade. I wouldn't have upgraded had I known this would happen. It appears that it is pretty difficult to downgrade back to 7.6.2

You deserve it for using Limewire.

They appear to have changed the browsing a little bit - clicking on an artist name will now also show all the albums that have that artist listed as "album artist". I'm pretty sure it *used to* only list the albums with that name entered into the "artist" field.

This is really nice, as it obsoletes a couple of smart lists for me - Richard D. James released about 60 records under at least twelve different names, and I used to have to use the search field or a smart list to show them all.

...

This *is* new, right?
