Hi folks,

Problem: Establish a quake2 internet-game with a friend. So only 2 players, should be simple...

After typing the IP into q2's network browser and trying to connect, all i get is a boom-boom sound. We used IPs by checking whatismyip.com ...

My buddy used quake2 (v1.08 osx-version by fruits of dojo) and i used quake2 (3.20) for os9. Connections doesn't work at all. We both have DSL and were online during play.
Then we tried this using both the os-x version. Failed.

My friend also completely disconnected his router (which includes a firewall), doesn't help.
We both deactivated the firewall of os-x, doesn't help.

In the console, i can see q2 permanently tries to connect, but seems to fail.

Does anybody have any hints? Help is highly welcome...
Thanks in advance,

smithz
