Here I have a Ram Disk sitting on the desktop. How do I use it to enhance browser activity??

you can set your browser to use the RAM disk as webpage cache...

copy the 'Cache �' folder from the 'Netscape Users' folder (found in the Preferences folder) to your RAM disk, then open Netscape Preferences and select 'Cache' (under the 'Advanced' categories) then click on the 'Choose' button (to set your cache folder) and navigate to your RAM disk on your desktop and select the 'Cache �' folder that you just copied to your RAM disk...

For IE (and it doesn't help IE much in my experience) you copy the 'MS Internet Cache' folder in the Preferences folder to your RAM Disk and do much the same thing as you do with Netscape, open IE preference settings and select your 'MS Internet Cache' folder in your RAM disk... if you wish you can have both caches in your RAM disk as long as it is as large as the browser caches are set to...

Also, George, be sure to select the "save ram drive contents..." checkbox in the memory control panel where you turned on your ram drive. this way if you have to restart the system your cache contents will TEMPORARILY be saved. This won't save yer but in a crash, but it can be handy. BTW, you will only need to copy over your old cache folder to the new ram drive if you care about saving what is already there, this is not needed to get the thing to work. Be aware though that you will have to manually remove all files from the ram drive if you should decide to turn it off.
