How do I backup files and burn to a CD-R? I am a windows user and my daughter needs to backup some files.

Thanks,

Bob

Here are a couple of methods
  1. When the Finder is the current app, go File > New Burn Folder
  2. Drag files to the burn folder
  3. Click the burn icon
Or you can do it this way as well
  1. Insert blank CD/DVD
  2. A dialogue box will display asking what app to use to burn the CD/DVD choose Finder
  3. Drag files to the burn CD/DVD icon in the left side bar of the Finder.
  4. Click the burn icon beside that folder and burn at a slow speed (4x, 2x, 1x) for maximum reliability
In System Preferences (>System Preferecnes> second row first item CD's and & DVD's) you can set the default action for blank CD's/DVD's as well as DVD Movies, Picture CD's etc.

Hope this helps

No problem. Don't hesitate to ask any more questions (no matter how simple/stupid you think they are).
