I have office for mac 2011, run outlook 2011 as my e-mail client. Since few days outlook doesn't seem to run as fast as it used to be in earlier days. I did re-install the office thrice but the results are the same. So i decided to switch to Apple mail, that works great, but the problem is i want to move all my e-mails to apple mail and also my contacts and calender to address book and ical. I have a whole lot of mails to be transferred.

Your helpful suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks for help.

Well i found the answer myself.
I posted in other mac forums and the answer was a software named olm converter pro.
I found it in apple online store:

I'm not sure why you need an expensive app to bring gmail into apple mail.

In this particular thread, he mentions that he actually transferred his emails through IMAP. So has he, or hasn't he? And he keeps prodding about this Spam Converter Pro thingy…

With this unnecessary tool being recommended, and the further help on how to do it for free ignored in all cases.
